Leverage 2.7 insecticide from Bayer CropScience receives U.S. EPA registration for soybeans and cotton

Soybean growers faced with the most damaging sucking and chewing pests have a new tool. Leverage® 2.7SE insecticide from Bayer CropScience recently received EPA registration for soybeans. Featuring two modes of action and a broad spectrum of protection, Leverage 2.7 controls a wide range of pests such as soybean aphid, bean leaf beetle, Japanese beetle and corn rootworm beetles. Leverage 2.7 is also registered for use in cotton.

“With the two modes of action in Leverage 2.7, soybean growers get the best of both worlds ― rapid knockdown with long-lasting foliar and in-plant residual activity,” said Ed Keane, Leverage 2.7 product manager, Bayer CropScience. “Plus, it contains a new mode of action for foliar soybean insect control, which provides an additional resistance-management tool.”

Cotton growers continue to benefit from Leverage 2.7, he added. It is the complete solution for mid- and late-season insect control by protecting cotton against a wide range of problematic pests, from plant bugs and stink bugs to bollworms and other lepidopterous pests. The result is improved square retention and higher yield potential.

“Leverage 2.7 is equipped with Stress Shield technology,” Keane said, “protecting the plant from many environmental stresses that can reduce plant vigor and yield. It has surface and translaminar activity, which means it protects both the upper and lower sides of leaves.”

With the recent upward trend in commodity prices, growers don’t want to leave anything in the field, Keane said.
“Leverage 2.7 is an excellent tool for both soybean and cotton growers to realize the highest yields – and profits – possible.”
