Pittsburg, Pennsylvania
February 5, 2008

Plant Health Care, Inc. (PHC) is pleased to announce that industry veteran Rick Rice has been hired as Director, Sales & Marketing, USA Agricultural Sales. Rice has spent most of his career in U.S. agriculture with experience in cotton and soybean seed and technology. He joins the sales and marketing team as PHC focuses on new opportunities, according to Mike Cloutier, Vice President of U.S. Agricultural Sales for PHC.

“Rick is joining us at a critical time of growth for us," says Cloutier. "Rick's experience brings us some in-depth industry perspective. He offers a unique blend of big company/small company experience that can take PHC where we need to go. We're very excited about having Rick on board. His addition to the company is the first of several other new additions which reflect our company's expansion."

Most recently, Rice has been marketing director for Delta and Pine Land/Monsanto. Previously, he was director of marketing and sales for Lawhon Farm Services cotton and soybean product lines. He also spent several years with Monsanto in Roundup Ready® marketing, introducing the technology to cotton and managing the marketing of Roundup and Roundup Ready Soybeans in the South. He also has worked with AgEvo (a component of Bayer CropScience), and Elanco (a component of Dow AgroSciences). He has a bachelor of science degree in agricultural business and economics from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. He and his wife, Maureen, have two sons, Mark and Zack, and live in Collierville, Tennessee.

Plant Health Care, Inc. is the US-subsidiary of Plant Health Care, plc, a publicly traded company in the UK with a market value of approximately $250,000,000. Rice says, "The company started in 1995 and until 2007, was focused on horticulture, turf, vegetables and high value crops. We're now adding field crops—cotton, corn and soybeans—with the acquisition of the Harpin technology from Eden Bioscience. I see exciting days ahead of PHC and I'm certainly glad to be part of their team."

PHC develops, manufactures and markets innovative Harpin Protein-based products (Harp-N-Tek®), which have a unique mode of action for improving crop production and plant health. N-Hibit® Gold CST and ProAct™ contain the new generation of Harpin Protein. Years of extensive research and commercial field use has led PHC to offer producers a money-back satisfaction guarantee when they make N-Hibit and/or ProAct part of their nematode management program.

Plant Health Care, Inc., headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Plant Health Care plc (AIM:PHC), a leading provider of natural products for plants and soil. PHC has operations in the United States, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Spain, and the Netherlands. PHC products are for the landscape, agriculture and land reclamation industries and are environmentally beneficial. Through the commercialization of these products, PHC is capitalizing on current long-term trends toward natural systems and biological products for plant care and soil and water management.
