Report highlights
On October 10, 2007, China's
Ministry of Agriculture (MOA) published "The Implementation
Rules for the Regulations on Protection of New Plant Varieties
(Agriculture Part)”. The new rules governing the application and
review process for registration of new plant varieties falling
under the responsibility of MOA will take effect on January 1,
2008. This report provides an UNOFFICIAL translation of these
rules. The impact of these rules on trade remains unclear.
