Mississauga, Ontario, Canada
June 5, 2008

BASF Canada is pleased to announce that ODYSSEY® DLX has received registration for use on CLEARFIELD® canola. Built on the proven ONE-PASS convenience of ODYSSEY, ODYSSEY DLX provides CLEARFIELD canola growers with enhanced grassy weed control and an extended window of application.

“We’re very pleased that ODYSSEY DLX has received registration for use on CLEARFIELD canola,” says Chris Vander Kant, BASF western herbicides brand manager. “For CLEARFIELD canola growers, ODYSSEY DLX provides a premium weed control solution to ensure they get the most from new high-yielding CLEARFIELD canola hybrids.”
ODYSSEY DLX combines the flushing weed control of ODYSSEY with a new Group 1 chemistry. With two modes of action, ODYSSEY DLX delivers broadleaf and grassy weed control, including extended control of flushing weeds such as chickweed, cleavers, stork’s-bill, wild mustard, stink weed, shepherd’s purse and green foxtail. In terms of grassy weed control, it also offers enhanced control of wild oats, tame oats, volunteer barley, green foxtail and volunteer wheat.

With an extended window of application, ODYSSEY DLX can be applied from the 1- to 6-true-leaf stage of CLEARFIELD canola; the cotyledon to 4-leaf stage of broadleaf weeds; and, the 1- to 6-true-leaf stage of grassy weeds*. ODYSSEY DLX is rainfast in three hours, is registered for use across all soil zones and has few follow-crop restrictions. Growers can rotate into canary seed, CLEARFIELD canola, CLEARFIELD lentils, lentils, field peas, durum wheat, spring barley, spring wheat and tame oats the year following an ODYSSEY DLX application.

As part of the 2008 GrowForwardTM Rewards Program growers can save up to 14 per cent on ODYSSEY DLX following the purchase of a qualifying product, such as CLEARFIELD canola seed. In addition, their purchase will also qualify for savings of up to 22 per cent on leading BASF fungicides. For CLEARFIELD lentil and CLEARFIELD canola growers, weed control from an ODYSSEY DLX application is guaranteed as part of the CLEARFIELD ONE-PASS Advantage, which offers a 100 percent re-spray in the event of grassy weed control failure with ODYSSEY DLX.

Each case of ODYSSEY DLX contains enough herbicide and MERGE® surfactant to treat 40 acres. ODYSSEY DLX is also registered for use on field peas and CLEARFIELD lentils.
