Andries Koops has been appointed as manager of the business unit
Bioscience of Plant Research International having served as
interim manager over the past few months. He succeeds Ruud van
den Bulk, who started as business developer at the Plant
Sciences Group on January 1 of this year.
Andries has broad knowledge in the field of plant physiology,
biochemistry and molecular biology. He was co-designer of the
‘Plant as factory’ concept and has patents on various inventions
in the field. His personal mission is to develop plants that
contribute to safeguarding raw materials for future generations.
Improving the quality and increasing the profits of plants and
plant substances are important goals for Andries. To realise
these challenges, he believes that the application of the latest
omics technologies and the joint effort of experts in the fields
of biology, chemistry, computer science and physics are
essential. |
