This spring, for the first time,
corn growers can achieve outstanding postemergence broadleaf
weed and grass control that lasts up to canopy, with new
Bayer CropScience
Laudis™ herbicide.
With its new, proprietary safener technology,
Laudis is designed
to optimize herbicide performance while minimizing crop
response, according to Jeff Springsteen, Bayer CropScience corn
herbicides marketing manager.
“That benefit gives growers the unprecedented freedom and
flexibility to manage weeds in all corn crops, including field
corn, sweet corn, popcorn and even inbreds used in seed
production,” he says.
Laudis consistently eliminates and then protects corn from
nutrient-robbing broadleaf weeds, including pigweeds and
waterhemp, and even those weeds commonly found to be resistant
to glyphosate, ALS- and dicamba-based herbicides. Plus, Laudis
delivers cutting-edge control of grasses, including foxtails and
woolly cupgrass.
Because Laudis has no known hybrid restrictions or interactions
with insecticides, fungicides or seed treatments, it provides
growers with more application freedom, without reducing the
efficacy of other products.
In fact, corn growers using a glyphosate- or Roundup®-based
system can boost the consistency of their weed-control results,
add residual control to canopy and introduce another mode of
action by adding Laudis to every tankmix, Springsteen notes.
“Adding Laudis to your Roundup program is a no brainer,” he
says. Additionally, Laudis is an outstanding tankmix partner
with Liberty® herbicide for application on LibertyLink® hybrids.
“Laudis is flexible enough to fit the needs of both traditional
and non-selective programs, and can be applied in corn at any
time between crop emergence and up to the V8 growth stage,”
Springsteen says.
To maximize weed kill and yield potential, corn growers should
apply Laudis at 3 fl/oz/A.
