STA Laboratories, Inc., a leading provider of genetic, seed
and plant diagnostic services to the seed and agriculture
community, has expanded its California-based operations to a
larger laboratory facility in Gilroy California. The new
facility, located on Holsclaw Road, increases laboratory and
greenhouse space to meet the growing demands for STA’s services.
“We are excited to announce our move into this new,
state-of-the-art facility, which allows us to remain in Gilroy,”
said Darrell Maddox, President of STA Laboratories. “We look
forward to meeting increased client demands and achieving
quality-throughput goals with this modern and efficient space.”
Located in Colorado and California, STA Laboratories now
operates out of 18,700 sq. ft. of speciallyequipped
laboratory and office space, along with over 27,500 sq. ft. of
environmentally-controlled greenhouses. “Our capacity has
increased dramatically,” added John Mizicko, General Manager of
Seed Quality Services. “The additional space also allows us to
more effectively serve our seed clients here and abroad.”
STA’s California-based operations offer Seed Health, including
its world-recognized BFB grow out test, Seed Analysis and
Grapevine HealthCheck™ Services. Dr. Judit Monis, Manager of
Plant Health Services, said, “The Plant Health staff is excited
about the new facilities. It has enabled us to offer our
Grapevine HealthChecktm to even more vineyards and nurseries.”
