BASF Corporation
today announced that it has granted
Nufarm an exclusive use of
the trademark Weedmaster® in the United States.
BASF will discontinue selling Weedmaster® herbicide, which will
be exclusively marketed and sold through Nufarm effective
immediately.
Weedmaster, which contains the active ingredients dicamba and
2,4-D, offers dependable, long-lasting control of 64 of the
toughest broadleaf weeds and brush for sugarcane, pastures,
small grains and fallow.
"The transition of Weedmaster to Nufarm will continue to allow
BASF to focus on its new innovations and future product
opportunities,” said Nevin McDougall, Vice President, U.S. Crop
Business Management at BASF. “The transfer of the Weedmaster
brand will enable BASF to focus its efforts on growing its
fungicide franchise and the launch of its new KixorTM herbicide
