More than 500 growers and
retailers were at the Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa, on Sept. 3
to learn about innovations in agriculture.
With a theme like “Race to Innovation,” attendees started the
day off with an adrenaline rush – race car ride-a-longs on the
Speedway.
After a lunch break, growers and retailers participated in
informational sessions that reviewed the current agribusiness
landscape, as well as specific innovations in the
Bayer CropScience
pipeline. This included a presentation by Mike Deall, Bayer
CropScience vice president of marketing and portfolio
management; and Jim DeLong, Bayer CropScience vice president of
commercial operations, about the vision and future of Bayer
CropScience.
“‘Race to Innovation’ is a fun theme, but we think growers and
retailers saw today it’s more than that – it’s a promise to
which Bayer CropScience is truly dedicated,” Deall explains.
“When you’re in a race, you’re in it to win it. But the effort
you put in just to get to the starting line isn’t a hasty
process. The training requires dedication, determination and
innovation, and that’s exactly how Bayer CropScience approaches
the solutions we offer growers and retailers. We have a lot of
exciting, and of course innovative, products coming to market
right now. Growers and retailers can expect us to introduce many
more innovative products in the future.”
In addition to the presentation by Deall and DeLong, product
managers and technical development representatives provided news
about how specific Bayer CropScience innovations will help
growers and retailers manage early and late season corn and
soybeans. Topics included seed traits and seed treatments, as
well as new and upcoming products from Bayer CropScience:
• Balance®Flexx herbicide*
• Corvus™ herbicide*
• Ignite® herbicide
• Laudis™ herbicide
• LibertyLink® soybeans**
“Because we’re dedicated to
helping growers and retailers protect their investments,
innovation continues to be a focus for Bayer CropScience,” Tim
Zurliene, Bayer CropScience strategic business entity lead for
herbicides and herbicide tolerant traits, says. “Bringing new,
innovative products to market provides unique solutions that
help growers and retailers improve plant health, reduce risk and
improve overall profitability.”
The event closed with Rusty Wallace, former NASCAR driver,
commenting on the importance of innovation to achieving success.
