Mycogen Seeds expands agronomy services team, hires Travis Belt and Byron Hendrix

Mycogen Seeds announces the hiring of two new agronomists: Travis Belt, customer agronomist for the Missouri Valley sales district, and Byron Hendrix, customer agronomist for the northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin regions of Mycogen Seeds’ Central Midwest sales districts.

As customer agronomist for the Missouri Valley district, Belt assists sales representatives, dealers and customers in the Missouri and eastern Kansas regions, supporting all MYCOGEN® brand seed products and Dow AgroSciences technologies

“Travis is a tremendous addition to our Agronomy Services team,” says Keith Porter, Agronomy Services Manager, Mycogen Seeds. “His past experiences in both sales and research will no doubt be a major asset for customers as well as Mycogen Seeds dealers and sales representatives.”

Prior to his new role, Belt was a sales representative for Dow AgroSciences. He most recently held the position of research associate for the University of Missouri where he specialized in corn/soybean management and assisted with the Missouri Variety Testing Program. Belt holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s with a focus in agronomy, both from the University of Missouri.

As customer agronomist for the Central Midwest sales district, Hendrix assists sales representatives, dealers and customers in the northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin regions. Hendrix supports all MYCOGEN brand seed products and Dow AgroSciences technologies.

Prior to this role, Hendrix worked as a sales representative for Dow AgroSciences in northwestern Illinois for three years. He also held other positions, such as technical sales agronomist and various account management roles, in a career spanning six years in agricultural sales. Hendrix has a master’s degree in plant and soil science from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale and a bachelor’s degree from Western Illinois University.

“We’re excited to add Byron to our team,” Porter says. “His well-rounded experience in agricultural sales and agronomy will be key benefits to the Mycogen Seeds business.”
