DuPont.
Twenty specially-selected teachers from 17 states attended the
7th annual National
Agriscience Teacher Ambassador Academy at DuPont Chesapeake
Farms in Chestertown, Md. (U.S.).
The Academy,
sponsored by DuPont as a special project of the National
FFA Foundation, is a professional development program where
agriculture teachers learn teaching techniques to improve
science learning.
The goal of the program is to incorporate more science into
teachers’ curriculums, make learning fun and challenging for
their students and, as a result, improve student performance in
standardized science test scores. More than 90 teachers have
been a part of the Academy since its inception.
“Science, agriculture and DuPont are natural associations,” said
Jim Collins, vice president and general manager - DuPont Crop
Protection and member of the FFA national board of directors.
“This is the 61st year that DuPont has been actively associated
with the FFA. I am pleased that DuPont and the FFA can join
forces for this Academy and help advance agricultural science.”
DuPont Chesapeake Farms is a 3,300-acre working farm devoted to
the development, evaluation and demonstration of advanced
agricultural practices and wildlife management techniques. |
