Syngenta Seed Care and INCOTEC join forces to provide increased quality control in treating fruiting vegetable seed

.

Greensboro, North Carolina
August 10, 2009

Syngenta Seed Care announced today it has entered into a partnership with INCOTEC to enhance quality control and assurance during the treating of fruiting vegetable seeds at the newly formed High iQ Elite Seed Technology Source™.

The High iQ Elite Seed Technology Source facility will be located at the INCOTEC North American Headquarters in Salinas, Calif. The facility will set new standards in precise application of seed treatments with the launch of the FarMore® Technology crop enhancement component in the fruiting vegetable market.

The alliance between INCOTEC and Syngenta Seed Care with the High iQ Elite Seed Technology Source will exhibit the strengths of both companies. INCOTEC will manage the quality and assurance control aspects of the treating process, while Syngenta Seed Care will continue to manage the application of the FarMore Technology crop enhancement component to each individual seed.

“Tomato growers will benefit greatly from this collaboration,” said Chad Shelton, Syngenta Seed Care crop manager. “When you couple the INCOTEC expertise in quality and assurance control with high-quality, innovative and performance based seed treatments from Syngenta Seed Care, value is added to every vegetable seed." This new component of the FarMore Technology platform will become available soon to other transplant crops like peppers and melons, with future uses for other small seeded vegetable species.

"INCOTEC has set a high standard for quality and assurance control methods in the small-seeded vegetable market and is excited to join with Syngenta Seed Care to showcase this strength,” said David Pickenpaugh, INCOTEC general manager. “The real winner in this partnership will be the growers who will receive a precisely-treated seed that will allow for maximum yield and profit potential.”

The first-ever seed treatment platform for small-seeded vegetables, FarMore Technology has a history of innovation. Containing the first seed treatment insecticide for use on cucurbits and leafy vegetables, FarMore Technology helps maximize vegetable production by providing small-seeded vegetable growers with consistent disease and insect protection and improved seed technology to enhance seedling emergence, plant stand establishment, early-season vigor and crop performance, as well as to protect yield potential. This evolutionary platform will continue to expand to meet evolving market and grower needs. Growers have come to always expect more from FarMore Technology.
