Monsanto announced today the names of the high school
seniors being awarded Deltapine Class of ‘09 scholarships to
pursue agriculture-related studies in college.
“As a company focused on technologies and products to improve
farming, we keep our eye on the horizon for the future. With
that in mind, we are proud to award nine outstanding high school
seniors $1,000 scholarships to help them pursue their careers in
agriculture,” said Brad Godwin, Deltapine cotton marketing
manager. “We hope the Deltapine Future of Cotton scholarship
program encourages more talented young people to pursue careers
in agriculture because the industry needs a constant supply of
educated, committed, fresh talent. We wish our nine recipients
all the best as they continue their education next year.”
To be awarded a scholarship, student wrote an essay themed “My
Future in Cotton.”
The winners were announced during the Deltapine Class of ’09
reception at the 2009 Beltwide Cotton Conferences in San
Antonio, TX. They are:
