Morris
Industries Ltd., a worldwide manufacturer and distributor of
agricultural equipment is pleased to announce the release of the
new Narrow Transport Contour Drill.
The New Morris Narrow Transport Contour Drill folds to a
very slim 3 meters (9 ft, 10 inches) for fast, safe and
efficient road transport and off-season storage. This
independent opener drill is ideal for smaller acreage farms
looking to upgrade to a minimum-till precision seed placement
drill or a good addition for the larger farm, looking for a
separate specialized drill for oil seeds. It is an ideal
combination for front wheel assist tractors in the 200
horsepower range. The single shank design has lower draft
requirements than most double-shoot air hoe drills and disc
drills resulting in lower horsepower requirements and overall
fuel savings.
The opener assemblies feature parallel linkage for ultra precise
seed and fertilizer placement. Each opener moves independently
of the frame and of each other to closely follow the contours of
the land. This true parallelogram linkage maintains a constant
opener angle and depth setting throughout its range of travel.
The opener can move above and below ground level without
compromising the opener angle and therefore seed placement in
the soil.
The unique double shoot opener is used to place fertilizer and
seed in a paired row configuration. This opener allows more
efficient use of your land by providing better seedbed
utilization and ensures an excellent stand for swathing. Seed is
placed, first, to each side and the fertilizer is placed below
and down the middle. An anhydrous adapter Kit is available for
applying NH3 in a single pass operation. Single shoot openers
are also available. Opener spacing options are 25.4 cm (10
inches) and 30.5 cm (12 inches).
On-row packing provides excellent seed to soil contact. Rubber
packer wheels, available in pneumatic and semi-pneumatic, are
effective in preventing soil build-up. Twine guards are standard
on all models to protect the hub bearings from mud and debris.
A double-acting hydraulic cylinder raises and lowers the opener
from transport to working position. Pressure is maintained on
the opener cylinders through a passive hydraulic system that
uses a unique hydraulic accumulator. By adding or subtracting
oil from the accumulator circuit through a tractor remote,
pressure in the accumulator system can be raised or lowered,
which provides a corresponding increase or decrease in trip out
force and packing pressure. This allow the operator to adapt to
suit various field conditions. This unique hydraulic accumulator
system acts as a hydraulic cushion for the trips, and being a
passive system, it greatly reduces the demand on the tractor
hydraulics compared to the continuous flow required by similar
drills on the market.
Maximum initial trip out pressure and packing pressure is dialed
in and locked on the drill. Once set, pressure can be adjusted
from the tractor cab. For example, you may want to reduce
pressure when going through a rocky area of a field and then
increase it back to the desired pressure. A convenient
easy-to-read digital display is provided in the cab.
Working width is 9.45 m (31 feet). The Contour Drill is also
available from 12.5 m to 14.3 m (41 feet - 47 feet) and in a
five-frame configuration from 18.3 m to 21.6 m (60 feet - 71
feet). |
