Mycogen Seeds launches seven new silage hybrids for 2010

Mycogen Seeds is adding seven new BMR and TMF hybrids to its portfolio of SILAGE-SPECFIC™ corn hybrids for 2010. The new hybrids offer high digestibility to help growers optimize feed intake and produce more milk.

“The new silage hybrids offer the latest improvements in nutritional value and agronomic technology,” says Greg Cannon, forage products marketing specialist, Mycogen Seeds. “We have continued our commitment to research and testing to make sure only elite silage hybrids make it to our growers.”

New BMR Hybrids

  • F2F383 is a new 95-day BMR hybrid that includes all the great feeding characteristics of the fuller-season BMRs. It can withstand high populations and offers excellent tonnage and NDF digestibility. F2F383 comes with HERCULEX® I Insect Protection for excellent control of above-ground pests, and offers herbicide flexibility with Roundup® and IGNITE® herbicide options.
  • F2F665 is a solid agronomic hybrid delivers added tonnage and a better disease package. F2F665 has very good whole-plant and NDF digestibility, and good drought-stress tolerance. This 109-day Quad-Stack™ with HERCULEX XTRA Insect Protection and Roundup Ready®.
  • A109-day hybrid, F2F622 is anew BMR that offers solid agronomics with a taller plant type. With very good whole-plant and NDF digestibility, F2F622 also has good drought-stress tolerance. F2F622 features the HERCULEX I and Roundup Ready traits.
  • F2F488 is a Quad-Stack of our popular F2F485 family. This hybrid has a taller plant structure in an early season BMR that now comes fully equipped with both above- and below-ground insect protection in HERCULEX XTRA. It also has herbicide flexibility with both LibertyLink® and Roundup Ready technology options.

New TMF Hybrids

  • TMF2Q298 is an 89-day Quad-Stack™ hybrid of our popular 2Q296 Roundup Ready version. This early growing hybrid has good agronomics, can handle high populations and will provide high digestibility. It’s offered with the above- and below-ground insect protection of HERCULEX XTRA, along with tolerance to IGNITE and Roundup herbicide.
  • TMF2L533 is a tall, leafy hybrid with medium ear placement, excellent eye appeal, and staygreen. It offers very good early vigor, excellent forage yield and quality that is consistent with other leading TMF hybrids. This hybrid offers both above- and below-ground insect protection with HERCULEX® XTRA Insect Protection, and includes tolerance to Roundup and IGNITE herbicides.
  • A 111-day Quad-Stack of the popular 2W726, TMF2W727 has one of the best disease and agronomic packages. With both high tonnage and high grain content, it is a strong choice for dairy and beef feeding operations. Widely adapted with excellent gray leaf spot tolerance, TMF2W727 is recommended for continuous corn acres. The full lineup of Mycogen® brand silage products includes hybrids with leading disease and insect protection tested through extensive field trials and independent feeding trials.
