After several years of emergency
use registrations, through the User Requested Minor Use Label
Expansion (URMULE) program, Tattoo® C Fungicide has received
full registration for control of downey mildew in cucurbit crops
Tattoo C contains two active ingredients – propamocarb
hydrochloride (Group U) and chlorothalonil (Group M) – for
excellent systemic control of downy mildew in horticulture crops
including melons, squash, pumpkins and cucumbers.
“Cucurbit growers now have the assurance of the continued
availability of Tattoo C when building a downey mildew control
program,” says David Kikkert, Portfolio Manager, Horticulture
with Bayer CropScience. “It’s a very significant step in
continuing to expand crop protection options available within
the Canadian horticulture industry. Bayer CropScience would like
to thank the minor use community for their continued work and
support.”
For best results, apply Tattoo C when conditions favour disease
infection, but before downy mildew infection occurs. Continue
applying on 7-14 day intervals until the disease threat is over.
Tattoo C is registered for a maximum of five applications per
season with a two day pre-harvest interval.
Tattoo C provides an important new addition to growers’
integrated pest management (IPM) plans. When using Tattoo C at
more than 7-day intervals, always alternate with a contact
fungicide for sound resistance management.
Tattoo C is also registered for control of late blight in
potatoes.
