Robert Clark appointed Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer of the Pickseed Companies Group

ClarkRobert.jpg (4364 bytes)Tom Pick, President and Martin Pick, Director of the PICKSEED Companies Group are pleased to announce the appointment of Robert (Rob) Clark to the newly created position of Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer.

Mr. Clark comes to PICKSEED with a strong and successful background in Agri-Business. His most recent position was with Cuddy International Corporation- the world leader in the production and sale of turkey eggs and poults, and a leading Canadian processor of value-added poultry products. During his eight year career at Cuddy Mr. Clark held the position of Senior Vice-President, Chief Financial Officer and Secretary.

Prior to joining Cuddy Mr. Clark worked ten years for Molson Breweries in several financial rnanagernent positions leading to Vice President, Planning and Marketing Finance.

Mr. Clark will be responsible for the management and operating results of the entire PICKSEED Companies Group - PICKSEED Canada, PICKSEED WEST, ROBERTS SEED Co. and MAPLESEED. He will join the successful management teams of these companies, providing leadership in strategic long-term planning, business operations and day-to-day management.

The late Otto & Marie Pick founded PICKSEED in 1947, primarily as a forage seed retailer. The company has grown steadily over its 50-year plus history and today is a North American leader in the seed area of Forage and Turfgrass crop development. The companies operate state-of-the-art research programmes that develop leading cultivars, produce pedigree seed at company owned modern production units situated in Oregon and across Canada, and market throughout North America and worldwide.

The PICKSEED Companies Group has experienced strong growth over the past several years. As the industry consolidates and market segments stabilize towards the use of improved, proprietary varieties the PICKSEED Companies Group anticipates continued and accelerated growth.
