MPB Cologne GmbH,
the Molecular Farming company based in Cologne, Germany, has
appointed two important managers. Dirk Aikes serves as
CFO and Dr. Sabine Hantke has assumed responsibilities as
Research Director Plant Biotechnology.
Dr. Klaus
Düring, President & CEO of MPB Cologne, said: "We are delighted
to have Sabine and Dirk with us to further advance the
development of our company. In their former jobs they have
gained excellent qualifications to complement our Management and
Research Director teams. Their international experience is of
high value for MPB Cologne."
Dirk Aikes
holds an MBA from the University of Duisburg, Germany. Before
joining MPB Cologne, he worked for more than four years at
Arthur Andersen in auditing. His experience in preparation and
auditing of international group financial statements and in
management consultancy is an excellent basis for managing MPBīs
international financial activities.
Sabine
Hantke returned to Germany after five years at the John
Innes Centre for Plant Science and Research in Norwich, UK, and
five years as a Research Manager and group leader at Pioneer
Hi-Bred (DuPont) in Johnston, USA. She completed her Diplom
(M.Sc.) and Ph.D. in biology from the University of Cologne,
with external research at the Max-Planck-Institute for Plant
Breeding Research in Cologne and the John Innes Centre.
Her broad
experience in plant biotechnology, plant breeding research and
research management excellently qualifies her to lead MPBīs
plant research department. MPB Cologne develops and produces
novel proteins as materials and active agents by Molecular
Farming in genetically optimized potato tubers for industry
customers and partners. The Industrial Tuber is used as a plant
bioreactor for economical large-scale production with highest
biosafety and quality standards.
