AB ANNAND & Co Ltd.
announces several changes to its business structure - most of
which are intended to improve service and add momentum to its
seed multiplication business, AB ANNAND Seed Servlces, Ltd.
Among these changes are the following.
Firstly, James D Dixon has moved from his job as the ANNAND
Research Manager up to the seed company’s General Manager. As
such, he is responsible for the operations of the seed
multiplication varieties and hybrids owned by ANNAND’s
customers. He reports directly to the Company’s Board. James
holds an agricutural degree, has many years experience in seed
production and possesses a successful record in the business,
having led ANNAND’s production research work, and by his
knowledge and by example has guided the company’s contract
growers very successfully over the past few years.
In addition, AB ANNAND & Co Ltd. has announced the
completion of the sale of its pasture seed subsidiary, AGRICOM
(New Zealand) Ltd. AGRICOM was purchased by AB ANNAND & Co
Ltd. in 1998. The new owners of AGRICOM include past director of
AB ANNAND & Co Ltd, John D McKenzie - who with this deal is
no longer associated with the ANNAND companies. The sale
concentrates ANNAND on providing professional, New Zealand-based
seed multiplication services for its customers’ vegetable
varieties and hybrids.
Finally, long-serving vegetable seeds manager Ross AB Annand
has decided to retire from the day-to-day. Ross has worked in
the family company since1982, and with the company under its new
owner, Jay R Scanlon, since 1997. Ross will remain involved as
an outside director of the AB ANNAND Seed Services, Ltd., and a
guiding force upon its expansion of markets and services.
