AB ANNAND & Co bolsters New Zealand agronomy staff

Christchurch, New Zealand
March 21,  2001

New Zealand seed producer AB ANNAND & Co Ltd. has announced that two newly-created agronomic positions in the Company have recently been filled.

First is the new position of Deputy Production Manager, to which position Agronomist Benjamin L Johnson was appointed in March. Ben holds a Seed Technology degree with honours from Lincoln University in New Zealand, and has experience in hybrid vegetable seed production. Originally from a family farm in New Zealand’s Mid-Canterbury Region, Ben is to be ANNAND’s principle coordinator of the Company’s contract growers in its main production area.

In addition, a Production Research position was filled recently by Agronomist Kaniappa Reddy. A New Zealander, Kani is originally from Fiji, earned an agricultural science degree at Harayana Agricultural University in India, and holds a Master’s degree from Lincoln University. He has extensive experience in vegetable seed production, with much of his expertise derived of his prior position with the New Zealand government’s seed research arm, AgResearch. Kani is fluent in Hindi and Tamil, as well as English.

Both positions report to General Manager of Seed Services, James D Dixon. This expansion of staff expertise is the most recent step taken by AB ANNAND & Co Ltd. to bolster its position as New Zealand’s most reliable and secure seed multiplication service, serving worldwide owners of vegetable varieties and hybrids.
