DuPont and Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc. today announced that they have agreed to give the U.S. Department of Justice additional time to complete its initial review of DuPont's proposed acquisition of the 80 percent of Pioneer not currently owned by DuPont. This action means that the initial Hart-Scott-Rodino waiting period is scheduled to expire on May 22, 1999.
