Mycogen Seeds introduces new canola variety for 2000
Eagan, Minnesota
October 1, 1999

Mycogen Seeds has added canola to its product lineup for the 2000 growing season.

The first variety to be introduced is part of a new line of canola from Mycogen Seeds and Dow
AgroSciences, known as Nexera™ Canola, that focuses on market-specific qualities for specific
end-use markets.

Nex 500 is a full-season variety that reaches maturity in approximately 95 days. It has demonstrated excellent yield potential and good lodging resistance. It displays good general plant health and is rated moderately resistant to blackleg.

"Nex 500 is one of the most consistent performers in canola trials," says Paul Holmen, canola product manager for Mycogen Seeds. "Trial after trial, in a wide variety of growing conditions and weather, Nex 500 has grown and yielded reliably."
