Pioneer Hi-Bred International,
Inc., a subsidiary of DuPont, will appeal immediately a jury verdict issued today in U.S. District Court in St.
Louis finding in favor of Monsanto concerning a licensing agreement between the companies for insect
resistant corn.
DuPont is confident that Pioneer has complied with both the terms and the spirit of the licensing agreement
between the companies.
No damages were awarded to Monsanto. Pioneer will continue to offer seeds with the Bt corn borer
resistance trait. The payment of any future royalties has not been determined.
