Ampac
Seed Company and their network of distributors announce the
availability of a true multi-cut red clover. Data collected over a
3-year period shows StarFire to be notably higher than a number
of other varieties.
Most medium red clover
varieties were bred for two cuts per season, three hay years and six,
maybe seven total cuttings during their productive lifetime.
StarFire, however,
can handle three to four cuttings during the first and second hay
years and still be there for a productive third year.
The result, as shown in
the following example, is more total tonnage and more dollars in the
farmer’s pockets.
