CelPril and Rizobacter Argentina S.A. announce licensing agreement

Manteca, California
November 15,  2001

CelPril of Manteca, California and Rizobacter Argentina S.A., announced today that they have entered into a long term licensing agreement. Under the terms of the agreement Rizobacter will be the exclusive producer of Rhizo-Kote® brand legume seed coatings in Argentina. In addition, Rizobacter will operate a local sales and marketing network within Argentina.

"We looked for a very strong company to produce our Rhizo-Kote brand coatings in Argentina and we found it in Rizobacter," said Boyd Hartman, CelPril General Manager.

Jorge MacMullen, President of Rizobacter, noted, "Argentina is a very important legume market, particularly for alfalfa, and much of that seed is coated seed. It is a natural extension of our inoculant business to produce Rhizo-Kote brand seed coatings and provide this high quality brand coating on a local basis."

John Walsh, CelPril Research Director, said the far reaching benefit of the new licensing agreement between US-based CelPril and Argentina¹s Rizobacter goes beyond merely providing Rhizo-Kote to Rizobacter.

"Argentine customers and seed dealers will now be able to purchase seed produced in the United States and have the option of coating it in the United States or Argentina...and be assured of obtaining the same high quality coatings that they have come to expect,¹ said Walsh.

The license agreement will also allow Rizobacter to coat legume seed that is grown in Argentina or imported from countries other than the United States. The coating facilities, located in Pergamino, province of Buenos Aires, will be completed and ready to supply coated seed for the upcoming planting season of March/April 2002.

CelPril is the largest agricultural organization in the United States dedicated exclusively to the development of seed enhancements. CelPril produces biological coatings for legumes, fertilizer and specialty coatings for grasses and a range of film coating products for vegetable, field and flower seeds. CelPril, a wholly owned subsidiary of Aventis CropScience, has been producing seed coating enhancements for over 25 years.

Rizobacter Argentina S.A., a leading agricultural supplier is involved in three main activities, inoculants, seed treatments and foliar fungicides.
