Urbana Laboratories,
of St. Joseph, Missouri, recently introduced NOD+30™, a custom
inoculating system for soybeans. Its extended on-seed life of 30
days gives custom applicators and growers important flexibility
during planting season. NOD+30 combines NOD+™, a sterile liquid
inoculant, and NOD+30 Additive, a powder ingredient that extends
the life of NOD+.
NOD+ contains TA-11 Nod+, the USDA's only patented soybean
rhizobia strain, which provides the highest seed-applied
rhizobia count on the market. The strain is available
exclusively from Urbana Laboratories. The TA-11 Nod+ strain
increased yields vs. traditional inoculant strains an average of
2.2 bushels per acre in over 353 tests in 18 states.
According to Dr. Tom Wacek, Director of Research for Urbana:
"NOD+ is the highest quality inoculant on the market - with 1.1
million rhizobia per seed. When used with NOD+30 Additive it
provides the additional advantage of increased planting
flexibility. NOD+30 can be applied to soybean seed up to 30 days
in advance of planting, compared to just 24 hours for other
liquid soybean inoculants. The longer on-seed life of NOD+30
gives dealers and growers the ability to manage their time more
effectively. Seed may be treated and picked up from the dealer
well in advance of planting. And with rain or other delays, they
can have confidence that NOD+30 will still be effective when
planting resumes."
NOD+30 can be custom-applied with fungicides ApronMaxx® RTA®
from Syngenta or Warden™RTA®* from Agriliance up to 7 days in
advance of planting.
