| Butterfly
Milkweed is native to southern Ontario as well as the central and eastern
United States.
This hardy perennial grows to 36 inches and has deep,
tuberous roots.
Flowers occur in large reddish-orange clusters in mid
summer. These flowers produce large quantities of nectar that attracts
butterflies.
Butterfly Milkweed is very
dependable and long-lived once established. It prefers full sun and
well-drained soils and can endure drought.
