shrub plant. Young plants are consumed as spinach, flower calyx
used for syrup, jellies, fruits juice and jams.
Suitable for hot and humid
climates, need abundant watering. Direct
sowing at a rate of 2-4 seeds per hole, or plant in nursery at
the beginning of the rainy season, when seedlings reach 10 cm
high. Sowing density: 40/60 cm on the row, 80 cm between rows.
Harvest the leaves all
year-round.
Calyx produce after 4-5
month from transplant (around 20-30 days after flowering). Calyx
is also used as dried.
