I am looking at
the seed industry from the viewpoint of a small, third
generation, familly-owned seed company with 65 years in
business, and as someone who has grown up in the industry.
I have to say that
it is sad to see how Wall Street and the globalized corporate
world have changed the seed industry from a business of
friends who could close million dollar business transactions
with a hand shake to a business of CEOs and lawyers who ask
you to sign contracts before you can even exchange samples to
see if the genetics will work in your local conditions and
markets. |
