The SBC aims
to be of service to all crops, but of course we will emphasize
those that are important in California.
In addition to the cotton pollination
project, we will soon start a similar project with alfalfa.
The genetic project in tomato stems
from the interests of several researchers at UC Davis and the
importance of tomato production in California.
The choice of crops is really
determined by what we see as needs and opportunities and by
the interest of private partners or funding agencies who
support the research projects.
