What are your
hopes and aspirations for the future of the seed industry? |

Gene
technology represents the greatest new opportunity that the
industry has ever experienced. I sincerely hope that the
prophets of doom in the green movement and those in the
organic industry loose the battle. The industry has a long way
to go to gain public confidence in many of the major world
markets. We must all play a part, firstly by researching how
it can benefit your customers and secondly by understanding
what gene technology means to your company in your part of the
value chain. The seed industry
is at the center of a revolution in the way we manufacture and
deliver products to consumers. Chemical and pharmaceutical
factories could one day be replaced by plant factories. This
will enable countless opportunities for innovation and
specialization within the agricultural industry. If this is
not worth working for, I do not know what is. |
