How adequately are the farmers’ seed requirements met by local and imported seed in terms of quality and how well they address the local problems such as diseases ?

As already mentioned, this region is still depending greatly on imported seeds. Local seed production is still very limited and I believe there is definitely a great opportunity for experienced seed producers to develop production sites in both Lebanon and Syria.

Unfortunately, farmers are not always well experienced and clearly guided to manage properly the crop protection programs. There is still much to do in that field.
