What are some of
the important lessons you have learned during your career in
the seed industry? |
 |
I have had the
opportunity to learn a number of important lessons throughout
my years with Monsanto and my time in the seed industry, but
one of the key things I have learned is the importance of
relationships in the business of
agriculture.
Strong relationships are key to the success of any ag
business, but I have
learned that this is especially true in the seed industry.
Farmers take a
different approach to their seed purchase decisions than they
do to purchase
decisions for their other inputs, with the relationship the
farmer has with
both the seed company and the local seed dealer playing a
critical role.
Fortunately, Monsanto and our dealers have been able to
develop strong
relationships with our customers and those relationships have
helped us
learn more about the needs of our customers and their
customers. This has
allowed our company to stay on the cutting-edge of this
industry and provide
growers with integrated solutions that truly benefit their
farming operations. |
