Please tell us about the partners in this venture and what each of
them contributes to the project?
SunPrime Seeds Pty Ltd is jointly owned by the University of Sydney, GrainCorp Ltd and the Grains Research and Development Corporation.

GrainCorp is one of Australia’s leading agribusinesses which owns and operates over 300 receival centres throughout south-east Australia and four export loading facilities. GrainCorp also operates a grain trading division that provides marketing options for grain growers as well as a network of rural Service Centres which offer year-round agronomic and marketing services.

The Grains Research & Development Corporation is one of the world’s leading grains research organisations, responsible for planning, investing and overseeing research and development, delivering improvements in production, sustainability and profitability across the Australian grains industry. The GRDC is a statutory corporation, operating as a research investment body in partnership with growers and Government.

The University of Sydney, Australia’s first university, was established in 1850. Today, with a rich diversity of courses and a reputation for teaching and research excellence, the University attracts students and staff from around the world. Many of the academic staff and graduates are leaders in their respective fields, making major contributions both locally and internationally. As a research institution, one of the University of Sydney’s core activities is the creation and transmission of knowledge through research and through the training of postgraduate research students.
