What can your
company do for the small seed companies? |
 |
For smaller seed
companies, those without access to applied DNA technologies or
the infrastructure to support such an undertaking, we can
provide access for them.
- We are not providers of new GMO products, but we can
help introgress those events into their germplasm.
- We can help reduce developmental time by applying marker
technology in their breeding programs.
- We can help determine genetic distances among their
breeding lines which will help organize their new and
existing germplasm and help reduce redundancies.
- We can help protect their intellectual
property/germplasm.
- We also assist in the identification of quantitative
trait loci (QTL) and subsequent introgression.
The list goes on. In short, smaller seed companies have
practically the same access to biotechnology as any major
player. All that’s needed is a decision to be a player and
apply existing technologies to their commercial breeding
programs. |
