How should the
seed industry face these issues
? |

The seed
industry is very diverse in terms of size of the companies,
their activities, their culture, and at a given point of time
they may perceive their own interest as different from the
general interest. I know that it is a difficult issue but
today the challenges are global and if we want to succeed we
need to be united. Arrogance
from one part or another of the world has to be absolutely
avoided. The experience we have got in FIS/ASSINSEL shows that
when you defend general interests you also defend particular
ones. On the contrary, when you try and defend particular
interests, you fail in promoting general ones, to the
detriment of the whole industry. |
