The Italian seed companies are undoubtedly known for their experience and professionality in seed multiplication. Sugar beet and vegetables seeds are particularly renowned all over the world, but also maize, wheat, rice and alfalfa seeds are known for their quality.

A very suitable pedo-climatic conditions for seed production, the expertise of the seed companies together with the presence of skilled farmers, allow to carry out seed productions of high quality and exported all over the world, in particular to other European countries and to Asian markets.

With regard to the varietal research, Italy plays an important role and is certainly a reference in the rice and durum wheat sector. Also vegetable products attract an increasing interest, especially the typically "Iitalian" species like chicories, lettuces, tomato, rocket, basil, onions, broccoli and aromatic herbs.
