We have been a
family business for 40 years of operations and have developed
a very professional, down-to-earth management style. First, we
decide what is best for the company, and we work from there. I
am a very hands-on manager, striving to help my teams
understand what this vegetable seed business is all about and,
together, make Agristar successful.
With this in mind, I believe that each and every employee
is vital to our success and to this end we have developed a
profit sharing program which each year pays out profits to all
our employees. We are in business for the long term, we work
through the ups and downs rather than concentrating solely on
"making the numbers". I feel fortunate to have ended up in
Brazil, it has taught me a lot about life and how to enjoy it.
I have had to develop a management style which takes into
account the cultural differences. My biggest challenge now is
to identify and help develop a team that will provide the
leadership for the future.
