Svalöf
Weibull AB develops and
markets varieties which create added value for agriculture, the
agroindustry and the food chain. SW has its own operations in ten
countries and is represented in another thirty countries. Sweden, the
rest of the Nordic countries, Europe and North America are SW’s most
important markets. Plant breeding focuses on varieties that are suitable
for cold temperate climate areas. The major crops are north European
cereals, forage and amenity grasses for Scandinavia, and European winter
wheat and oilseed rape globally.
SW is owned by the Swedish Farmers’ Supply and Crop Marketing
Association (60 per cent) and BASF (40 per cent). Group sales amount to
approximately SEK 1.1 billion and the employees
number about 700, including some 500 in Sweden.

SW utvecklar och marknadsför sorter som skapar mervärden för jordbruket,
agroindustrin och livsmedelskedjan. SW har egen verksamhet i tio länder
och finns representerat i ytterligare ett trettiotal länder. Sverige,
övriga Norden, Europa och Nordamerika är SW:s viktigaste marknader.
Växtförädlingen är inriktad på sorter anpassade för kallt, tempererade
klimatområden. De stora grödorna är nordeuropeisk stråsäd, vall- och
grönytefrö för Skandinavien samt europeiskt höstvete och raps globalt.
SW ägs av Svenska Lantmännen (60 procent) och BASF (40 procent).
Koncernomsättningen uppgår till ca 1,1miljard SEK och antalet
medarbetare är ca 700 varav ca 500 i Sverige.
