Duties:

1. Conduct of regulatory experiments; Liaison with regulatory authority and follow approval of GM plants from designated authorities.

2. Manage testing of products in SAU/ICAR Trials for hybrids and varieties.

3. Preparation and filing of applications for registration under PPV & FR Act; follow up actions of registered plant varieties.

4. Drafting, filing, prosecution, maintenance of IP including patentability assessment, FTO searches.

5. Submission of documents for inclusion of varieties in state seed license.

6. Other duties allotted from time to time.

Essential:

1. Master’s Degree in Agricultural Sciences with specialization in Plant Breeding & Genetics/Agricultural Botany/ Seed Science & Technology or other related subject with good legal understanding. Professional degree in IPR and other legal area will have advantage.

2. Experience in the field of regulatory process for approval of Genetically modified plants; Intellectual Property Rights in relation to PPV & FR Act/ Rule Regulation and registration of varieties under PPV & FR Act and filling inventions on IPR.

3. Good working knowledge of computer applications.

Desirable:

Two years experience in field of regulatory affairs and registration of varieties under PPV & FR Act in private/public organization. Good time management and muti-tasking abilities.
