Product Development Specialist

Location: Salinas, California, USA

Rijk Zwaan USA is of the subsidiaries located in Salinas, California and is responsible for the marketing & sales of seeds in the USA market. The team consists of 18 people.

Broad responsibility

Together with the Crop Managers, the Product Development Specialist will assist in the introduction and sales of the total Rijk Zwaan open field assortment for the USA and Canada. The Product Development Specialist will organize and follow variety trials in consultation with Rijk Zwaan staff, distributors, growers and cooperating companies with a focus on the leafy vegetables. You will translate information about market size and trends in the North American vegetable seed industry for all outdoor crops into the organization. In close cooperation with Rijk Zwaan research, organize and follow internal and external variety trials, inform breeders of the results and recommend varieties for commercial introduction. By visiting European breeding trials become familiar with the Rijk Zwaan variety development program and keep contact with your colleagues.

Profile

The candidate will have completed a Bachelor’s Degree in the plant sciences. For this position we are seeking an energetic, enterprising person, resourceful and able to take the initiative. You are a team player and have strong communication skills.
