Product Marketing Manager

DESCRIPTION:
BASF Agricultural Products is seeking a Crop Protection Product or Marketing Manager to:
- Under supervision of the Sr. Market Manager, develop, manage and implement crop business plans which include situational analysis of markets, projections of future events, business objectives, strategies, tactics, and measurement of results
- Identify market needs and communicate product attributes aligned with market needs and regulatory requirements
- Develop and update product concepts detailing mid and long-term strategies for assigned products, submitted for supervisor approval
- Actively participate as marketing representative on Project Teams, providing input for justification, approval, development, and introduction of new projects to commercialization
- Develop market introduction plans for new products including internal coordination to bring the assigned product to market with external focus on development and implementation of positioning, messaging, and value proposition
- Coordinate with other key internal and external groups to ensure product-related plans are implemented
- Evaluate, negotiate, and implement specific 3rd party opportunities
- Manage assigned product short and long-term supply, forecasting, and profitability by coordinating a balance between short-term operating results and long-term market share development
QUALIFICATIONS:
BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- BS degree
- 3-5 years marketing, sales, account managment and/or technical support experience
- 5+ years experience in the agri-business industry
- 2-5 years of headquarters/corporate experience in marketing or served on advisory boards at the corporate level
- Business acumen and the ability to strategically analyze global reaching factors and to summarize into concise, creative business plans to reach financial goals
- Experience in 3rd party negotiations
- Experience working in an environment with complex intellectual property rights and negotiations or other regulated environments
- Demonstrated ability to work across common industry groups for common purpose
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- MS degree in agronomy or related field or MBA preferred
- Broader experience across industry segments including understanding of seed and adjuvants businesses
