Limagrain GmbH is the local operating company of Limagrain Europe, the largest plant breeder and seed company in Europe. We breed and market agricultural seeds for the German market under the established brands LG and Advanta, offering a broad portfolio of high yielding varieties of corn, wheat, barley, protein and oilseed crops and grasses.
Limagrain is seeking a well-qualified and motivated individual to work as a Barley Breeder, based at Peine-Rosenthal, near Hannover in Germany. The role reports to the Senior Barley Breeder, based in the Netherlands, who is responsible for breeding barley varieties for Central European markets.

The successful applicant will have the ability to manage a small team and to work effectively with colleagues in a multi-crop breeding station, and will be a member of Limagrain Europe’s internationalbarley breedingteam.

We require an individual with either experience as, or who is strongly motivated to become, a plant breeder. Applicants should have a strong knowledge of plant science and genetics and be able demonstrate managerial ability. Knowledge of barley and its end uses would be relevant, but is not essential. Fluency in written and spoken German and English is essential. Post Graduate training would be an advantage.
