Project Analyst (Portfolio)

Location: Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, USA

BASF the Chemical Company consolidated its plant biotechnology activities in BASF Plant Science in 1998. Today, about 800 employees are working to optimize crops for more efficient agriculture, renewable raw materials and healthier nutrition. We are in search of a Project Analyst.

The position will assume responsibility to proactively keeping track of the BASF Plant Science project portfolio, organizing reports and records, as well as organize the Project Board meetings and serve as the major contact person for BASF Innovation Management and Strategic Planning & Controlling.

The incumbent in this position will have the following responsibilities:

  • Keep track of the Plant Science project portfolio, especially
  • Portfolio Overview and Analysis
  • Project Fact Sheets
  • Quarterly Reporting
  • Serve as the BASF Plant Science process support for the BASF PhaseGate system
  • Organize and faciltate the project board
  • Act as primary contact person to BASF Innovation Management and Strategic Planning & Controlling
  • Prepare R&D Plan and R&D Report
  • Participate in cross-project analyses and initiatives to increase efficiency, quality and/or foster experience exchange across projects
  • Together with all Project Analysts in Project Support ensure a comprehensive and consistent view on the BASF Plant Science project portfolio

QUALIFICATIONS:

BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor degree in a biological science with 7 years of biotechnology industry experience - OR Masters degree in a biological science with 5 years of biotechnology industry experience
  • Must have strong communication skills with the ability to impact and influence others
  • Creative problem solving with demonstrated analytical thinking skills and strong planning and organizational capabilities
  • Sound experience in the use of Microsoft office tools
  • Ability to work in a team environment encompassing multiple disciplines
  • Ability to meet goals and to attain the desired results under time pressure and in a fast changing environment
  • Proficient written and verbal English skills

PREFERRED:

  • Experience in Project Management
  • Experience with data and/or document management
  • Experience in agricultural biotechnology
  • Experience with MS Project
