As our dynamic European organisation is growing rapidly, we are looking for an ambitious: Assistant Laboratory Manager

The Assistant Laboratory Manager will assists the laboratory manager with all day-to-day laboratory operations.You will supervise and coordinate activities of personnel engaged in performing various tasks required, in tissue culture lab, propagation and care of plants.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in scheduling personnel to optimize productivity and work flow
• Ensure all lab staff have adequate resources to perform all aspects of work
• Ensure laboratory practices meet or exceed company policy and industry standards
• May be required to perform the duties of the Lab Technicians
• Maintain time, calibration and testing records of lab equipment
• Maintain complete records of transfers, certification testing and inventories of the Tissue Culture lab
• Stay current on new developments in plant tissue culture
• Maintain written Standard Operating Procedures for all activities
• Observe greenhouse crops and recommend inputs

Candidate profile

You are the ideal candidate for us if you have a bachelor degree in Plant Science with at least 3 years relevant working experience with(in) a multinational team. Experience in the field of Plant Biology and Tissue Culture is preferred but not essential. To be successful in this function, you need to possess a strong understanding of plant biology and care. You have excellent communication, organizational and problem solving skills and you are able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. You have an eye for detail and you work quickly and accurately. You are a self motivated and driven personality who's committed to safety and teamwork in the workplace. You demonstrate strong initiative and accountability to deliver on time against project goals and you possess good finger and manual dexterity necessary for work in the tissue culture lab.
