Tasks

Overall, the candidate will be responsible for development of commercially successful varieties of crops assigned and as per the directions provided. It will involve interacting with other team members, pathology support and employing new technologies

Qualifications

• M.Sc / PhD in Genetics & Plant Breeding or Horticulture
• Experience of 3 to 4 years in vegetable crop or field crop breeding in a commercial organization desirable.
• Knowledge of integrating field and lab based breeding
• Breeding skills for line breeding and hybrid development
• Excellent communication skills, innovative ideas and analytical skills required
• Should be able to perform independently and integrate as a team player
• Knowledge of breeding software, marker assisted selection and di-haploids
• Ability to relate market requirement with relevant genetics of the crop
