Project Lead Routine Molecular Diagnostics (Halen, NL)

Our Biotech services (NBS) are a cornerstone of the Integrated Breeding Strategy in R&D. We apply tools and offer high throughput biochemical testing and genotyping services to scientists and breeders, as well as serving Operations and Marketing and Sales colleagues worldwide.
Building on this successful principle, we are now expanding our lab to offer routine Molecular Diagnostics testing for breeders and phytopathologists.

Your mission as a Project Lead
Working within our Biotech services group in Haelen, NL, you will work alongside our Research Scientists to transfer new protocols and optimize workflows to offer a first-class service to breeders and phytopathologists. You will be responsible for the execution of routine testing from customer request to delivery of results to tight deadlines and demanding customers. We are focused on continuous improvement, so don’t expect routine from 9 to 5, but an environment that is constantly changing and where your ideas for improvement are welcome and highly sought after. To be the right candidate you should have an understanding of genotyping principles and workflows as well as the ability to plan your work independently.

Essential duties and responsibilities

  • Take a lead role in provision of routine molecular diagnostics testing;
  • Evaluate, analyze, interpret and document autonomously lab projects en their results within the guidelines and procedures;
  • Responsible for the actualization of knowledge within the specific area of expertise;
  • Ensure the compliance with all existing quality and safety standards;
  • Accountability for successful protocol transfers from Research Molecular DiagnosticsParticipate in daily work of a general Molecular Serviceslab;
  • Keep Team Leader informed of on-going activities, issues and concerns;
  • Cooperate closely with Scientist and Research Assistant Molecular Diagnostics.

You are a professional with

  • Bachelor’s degree in laboratory education (HLO) or equivalent experience;
  • Language skills Dutch and English (must);
  • Result oriented while working in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment;
  • Focus on continuous improvement;
  • Ability to work independently with accountability for assigned projects;
  • Team player and effective communicator;
  • Organisation and planning experience;
  • Functional competences: convincing, solving problems, innovative, analytical thinking, entrepreneurship, interpersonal skills;
  • Permit to work in the Netherlands.
