Breeders, Soy, Corn & Sugar Cane Division

Location: São Paulo, Brazil

We are looking for experienced Breeders to join our Soy Corn and Sugar Cane Division in São Paulo, Brazil.

Key Business Accountabilities:

  • Develop and maintain a germplasm pool to ensure successful results
  • Coordinate and place trials in major market areas and travel to these areas for evaluation of entries
  • Fulfill requirements for variety advancement through documentation of performance, resistance, and completion of required breeder's seed
  • Provide summarized results of trials to management
  • Learns basic germplasm pools including strengths and weaknesses; ancestral information; (general heterotic groups if applicable)
  • Utilizes marker application for projects, scheduling and forecasting of samples, datapoints and associated nursery rows
  • Utilizes marker application through early generations where applicable throughout the breeding process.

Required Education/Skills:

  • Doctorate degree in Genetic Breeding, Genetics, Statistics (Applied) OR Genetic Breeding in Animals plus 5 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge in Germoplasm
  • Planning field trials; managing field selection and evaluation of assigned species
  • Coordinating and placing trials
  • Portuguese fluency strongly desired
  • Currently eligible to work in Brazil
