Shamrock Seed Company has an immediate opening  for an Assistant Lettuce Breeder. 

Applicants must have an MS in plant breeding or a BS in an agricultural field of study with an emphasis on plant breeding.   Experience in lettuce helpful (but not required).  Knowledge of basic plant pathology also required. Must be willing to work in crop fields and greenhouses and travel as needed domestically and internationally. Computer literacy (database and spreadsheet management, word processing) necessary.

• The scheduling and execution of appropriate crosses, determined by the breeder
• Planting/managing R & D Trials
• Evaluation of R & D trials, in the absence of the breeder , and the digging of appropriate selections
• Data collection for intellectual property rights applications
• Stock seed maintenance
• Accurate and complete records of your work
• Travel as necessary
