Support Specialist - Application Management R&D
Job Description
You will be joining a team of dedicated professionals who are responsible for providing efficient and effective day-to-day support of the software and hardware used by vegetable breeding teams based in South Europe, providing training and training materials, and for coordinating other activities as directed within the assigned crop/s.
Major Accountabilities
- Respond appropriately to requests for assistance from customers within Breeding and Research
- Make use of the OTRS ticketing system to record issues, actions taken, and solutions
- Interact with AMRD colleagues in other time zones to create a seamless network of support personnel around the globe
- Actively participate in and contribute to internal discussions regarding AMRD activities, priority setting, allocation of resources, and future planning
Required Skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills for interacting with a wide variety of customers with widely varying skill levels
- An energetic, cheerful and enthusiastic attitude, and a practical approach to problem solving
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision, and also within a team, to ensure consistent support around the globe
- Above average competence in MS Office applications, especially Excel and Access
- Familiarity with computing technologies and related equipment, peripherals and software
- Experience in plant breeding or other horticultural field is highly desirable
- English fluency is a must; Spanish and/or Italian fluency is desirable
Required Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field is required (Plant breeding, Bioinformatics)
- Work experience in a similar position is a plus.
Job Location
South Europe (either S. Agata Bolognese ITALY, or Murcia or Almeria SPAIN)
Travel within South Europe (Italy, Spain, Turkey, Israel) is required - about 10%, and possible international travel for Support group annual meetings.
